Salem’s BSN program prepares you to:

  • Demonstrate critical thinking and sound decision-making
  • Integrate nursing theories, scientific principles, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary knowledge to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Utilize management skills to facilitate high-quality, safe and effective care
  • Critically evaluate nursing research and nursing policy to improve clinical practice and healthcare delivery.

This program includes hands-on skill development in our nursing labs followed by clinical rotation experiences that cover a range of populations and healthcare settings.

You’ll also complete a nursing capstone experience that synthesizes what you’ve learned during your program. Finally, we’ll help you prepare for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

What will I learn in Salem’s BSN program?

The BSN is a three-year pathway to a bachelor’s degree in nursing. It combines a two-year ASN plus a one-year RN to BSN program.  It’s structured to develop your competencies gradually, so you make steady progress toward degree completion. It combines pre-nursing courses in science and general education with core courses and electives in professional nursing.

Each pre-nursing course takes four weeks to finish. You’ll focus on one course per month, ensuring you can dive deeply into foundational topics.

Core nursing courses take eight weeks to finish. These include hands-on lab training and clinical experience components as well as theory. Our program also includes preparation for the National Council on Licensure Exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN).
