Tuition and Fees
Undergraduate Tuition
Tuition is billed per credit hour. Current rates for undergraduates are as follows:
- Residents of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana – $475 per credit
- Military Students and Veterans – $425
- RN to BSN Completion Program Students – $475
- All Other Students – $550
Graduate Tuition
Graduate tuition varies by program.
- MBA, MSCJ, MSIT – $650 per credit
- MEd, EdS and Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) – $550
- MSN – $495
- Military Students and Veterans
- MBA, MSCJ, MSIT, EdS, CAS – $495
- MEd – $425
- DBA – $625
Scholarship and Grant Opportunities
Salem is proud to offer a range of institutional scholarship opportunities to further reduce the cost of attendance. We award scholarships for one semester at a time. Scholarships can be renewed based on student performance and other eligibility criteria.
Award amounts may not exceed the cost of attendance adjusted for other financial aid, and may only be awarded to students in good financial standing and good academic standing.
Student Activity and Technology Fees
Ready to take the next step in your education? There’s never been a better time to start! Enroll at Salem University between now and April 7, and we’ll cover your Student Activity and Technology Fees for your first year!

New Student Success Grant
If you live in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia, you may be eligible for our New Student Success Grant when you enroll in an associate or bachelor’s degree program with us.
This grant reduces your cost of attendance to just $475 per credit. You can qualify for the grant when studying online or on campus.
West Virginia Promise Scholarship
The WV Promise Scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying students enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s programs. Conditions apply. See our West Virginia Promise Scholarship page for more details.
President’s Honor Scholarship (Undergraduates Only)
The Salem President’s Honor scholarship awards up to $2,000 per semester for students who demonstrate exceptional academic merit. You may apply after completing two consecutive semesters while enrolled full-time with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. You must reapply every year thereafter.

Alumni Scholarship (Graduate Only)
If you’ve completed your bachelor’s degree at Salem, you can apply for a one-time $2,000 scholarship toward a graduate degree with us.
External Scholarships
There are a wide range of private scholarship opportunities. You may be eligible for several different opportunities. Knowing where to search for reputable scholarships can be difficult. Get in touch with our financial aid team for more advice on where to search.
Financial Aid
Financial aid is available to those who apply and qualify. You’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year that you attend Salem University. While we can’t fill out the FAFSA for you, we’re happy to answer any questions you may have. Contact our financial aid department for advice.
